Joe Camel and the Marlboro Man, along with dozens of Clowns for Retiring Ronald, are combing the city for Ronald McDonald, to take him out of our schools, hospitals and libraries and help him start the retirement he so richly deserves.
After all, our kids are sick. Diet-related disease is a leading preventable cause of death around the globe, and our children are bearing the brunt of the crisis.
McDonald's knows our kids are vulnerable to marketing from brand icons like Ronald. Yet for nearly 50 years the corporation has used Ronald to hook kids on its unhealthy food, helping to ensure that one in three children born in the year 2000 will one day become diabetic as a result of poor nutrition.
